TCSE Distinguished Service Award

The TCSE Software Engineering Distinguished Service Award is presented annually for outstanding and/or sustained contributions and service to the software engineering community.

TCSE Distinguished Education Award

The TCSE Software Engineering Distinguished Education Award is presented annually to an individual for outstanding and/or sustained contributions to the software engineering education.

TCSE Distinguished Synergy Award

The TCSE Software Engineering Distinguished Synergy Award is presented annually to a team for outstanding and/or sustained contributions that stand as a model in the software engineering community of effective partnership between industry and universities. This TCSE Award is new for 2014.

TCSE Distinguished Women in Science and Engineering Award (WISE) Leadership Award

The TCSE Software Engineering Distinguished WISE Leadership Award is presented annually to an individual for outstanding and/or sustained leadership in the software engineering community to encourage women to explore science and engineering career paths. This TCSE Award is new for 2014.

Call for Nominations
2014 TCSE Distinguished Educator, Service, Synergy and WISE Awards 
Deadline April 1, 2014

The TCSE Software Engineering Distinguished Service, Educator, Synergy, and WISE Awards are presented annually for outstanding and/or sustained contributions and service to the software engineering community in these categories.

TCSE Awards Selection Process
  • The TCSE Chair appoints a TCSE Awards Chair annually who will serves at most two consecutive years.
  • The TCSE Awards Chair appoints an Award Selection Chair for each award
  • The Award Selection Chair organizes a selection committee of at least three members, subject to approval of the TCSE Awards Chair.
  • The Award Selection Chair will follow the selection criteria for that award and submit the recommendation to the TCSE Awards Chair.
  • The TCSE Awards Chair will review the selection process and approve or disapprove the award based on conformance with the selection criteria.
  • The TCSE Awards Chair will submit the final nominations for approval to the TCSE Chair.
  • The TCSE Chair will submit the final recommendations for approval to IEEE.

Important Dates

  • Nomination deadline: April 1, 2014
  • Notification of awards: April 8, 2014
  • Award presentation at ICSE 2014, June 4-6, 2014, Hyderabad, India

Criteria

  • Eligibility: A nominee must be a TCSE member at the time of nomination.
  • Distinguished Service Award: Outstanding and/or sustained contributions or service to the software engineering community and software engineering education, respectively.
  • Distinguished Education Award: Outstanding and/or sustained contributions to  software engineering education.
  • Distinguished Synergy Award: Outstanding and/or sustained contributions that stand as a model in the software engineering community of effective partnership between industry and universities. 
  • Distinguished WISE Leadership Award: Outstanding and/or sustained leadership in the software engineering community to encourage women to explore science and engineering career paths.

Nomination package

  • Name, address, phone number, and email address of the person making the nomination (the nominator).
  • Name, address, phone number, and email address of the candidate for whom an award is recommended (the nominee).
  • A short statement (200-500 words) explaining why the nominee deserves the recommended award.
  • Supporting statements from up to two people in addition to the nominator.
  • The vitae or detailed biographical summary of the nominee.
